Ready to dust your wheels off and get your ride ready for this season , but not quite sure where to begin?
Join us for a Spring Maintenance/Flat Repair Clinic
With spring quickly approaching the time to get your bicycle road and trail ready has arrived. A bit of maintenance, some quick safety checks and a refresher course on minor road side repairs will get you ready to ride with confidence this season.
Proper and regular bicycle maintenance is key for optimal performance. It is much more cost effective to maintain than repair.
Along with maintenance a quick safety check is important before kicking off your riding season to ensure your bike is functioning as it should.
Knowing basic road side maintenance can keep you rolling when otherwise would bring you to a halt. Whether it’s learning a new trick or refreshing an old skill, this will boost your capability.
Join us at Kent Cycle for a Clinic that covers basic maintenance, safety checks and road side repairs.
This free hour long clinic is geared towards those cyclists who wish to build confidence and take control of their riding experience. A safety inspection will identify any problem areas that may need to be dealt with. We will check tires, brakes, chains, cables, cassette, crank and all bolts and quick release devices. Once we are satisfied with our safety check we will lubricate cables and chain, tighten bolts and inflate tubes to optimal psi. Flats happen. Knowing how to make the repair quickly and efficiently will get you rolling in no time. Our demonstration will cover a few different set ups. Feel free to bring your bike if you would like to learn how to change your own tube.
What: Spring Maintenance/Flat Repair Clinic
Where: Kent Cycle 115 Lake Street, Kent, OH 44240

Ride your bicycle to the beach and enjoy a party under the stars! It’s June and Euclid welcomes Cleveland Critical Mass for a third year. Bike Euclid invites you to the Second Annual Bike to the Beach Party, June 26, 2015, at Kenneth J. Sims Park 23131 Lake Shore Blvd. Euclid, Ohio 44123. The ride will end in time to enjoy sunset.
Beer and KRAV Food Truck will be at the beach!
You may also pack a picnic or enjoy one of our local restaurants such as The Paragon and Beach Club Bistro. If you decide to pack a picnic, please no glass. There will be a fire to roast marshmallows. Bring a stick because they were in short supply last year. Thank you to Rebecca McFarland, of the Euclid Public Library, who will again be providing S’more fixings.
So now you’re thinking, sunset and an evening under the stars may not be enough. I want to sleep under the stars. Or perhaps you want to test out your new touring gear. Well, now is your chance. Overnight Primitive Tent Camping on the beach is available only for this special event, $5/camper. Simply bring your gear and register at the Bike Euclid table upon your arrival. Registration will be available before the ride from 4pm-5:30, as well as after the ride. Campers must break camp by noon. And yes, in the morning, the Mayor Bill Cervenik will again be flipping pancakes for breakfast!
Parking will be available at the park in the grass to the south of the Henn Mansion. We ask that you please do not park in the lot immediately adjacent to the building as this lot is used by those renting the facility. Overnight parking will be available for those registered to camp.
Collinwood and Euclid residents have been invited to join in the ride as it passes through their neighborhoods. A local ‘Mini-Mass’ will gather at Cebar’s Euclid Tavern (595 East 185th Street) at 8:00 PM to join the ride as we go by at approximately 8:15 PM. Cleveland Critical Mass will leave downtown Cleveland at 7pm, will be at the intersection of East 185th St & Lakeshore Blvd. no later than 8:30pm, and will arrive at Sims Park in time for sunset. All times are estimates.
If you plan to start your evening in Euclid and ride downtown, here is a route Bike Euclid suggests: http://mapq.st/1HPKo54
And if you plan to wake up in Euclid on Saturday, we encourage you to attend the Waterloo Arts Fest, http://waterlooarts.org/waterloo-arts-fest-2015/
Here are two good routes from Sims Park to Waterloo:
Due to Public Square being closed, we will once again meet at Mall A (Veterans’ Memorial Plaza) by the Fountain of Eternal Life (just east of the Key Tower between Rockwell and St. Clair Avenues) at 6:30 PM and ride off at 7:00 PM.
